Single-Day & 3-Day Ticket Holders Will Not Have Physical Badges In 2027
RCCC is eliminating physical badges for Single-Day and 3-Day ticket types
We are fully aware that some of you may not be thrilled about this adjustment, but after thorough consideration and planning, we truly believe it’s the right path forward.
- There is no required app download associated with this change. Our mobile app continues to be 100% optional. Instead, entering RCCC will be similar to attending a concert or exhibit, where your digital ticket will be scanned at the door directly from your confirmation email.
- In the event your mobile device is out of juice or won’t pull up your tickets, Leap scanners have the ability to search by purchaser name and/or email address.
- Premium, Fast Pass, and Club Rose ticket holders will still receive badges, as will most non-attendees, including Exhibitors, Artists, Staff, Crew, Guests, and Press.
- Panelists, Professionals, and Content Creators will not receive badges.
- The ADA wristband process will not be changing, and there will be designated entrances for ADA attendees.
- In light of this change, we will not be implementing a price increase on our Early Bird or Loyalty tickets this year.
- While mailing badges is typically a fantastic perk, issues do arise for some. Now, regular ticket holders will no longer need to pay a $12 shipping fee, contact the post office if your badge goes missing in the mail, or have to rebuy your badge if it gets lost, stolen, or left at home.
- Premium, Fast Pass, and Club Rose ticket holders may still add shipping for $12 before the July 16th Mailing Deadline, but as always, this is optional.
- If you want to upgrade your badge after the Mailing Deadline, you will no longer have to purchase an upgrade before receiving a refund, cut up your badge, and send a photo through email.
- For our badge collecting fans, a limited quantity of commemorative badges will be produced and sold at the RCCC Merch store while supplies last. The badges will be priced at just $5, with 50% of the proceeds going to our 2027 official charity, Stumptown Strays.
- Our entrance and exit structure will change slightly, with most things remaining in the same locations. We will ensure an adequate number of doors are operational, especially in the mornings, to minimize any potential lines and backups.
-
- On-site ticket buyers will have their own entrance door with cash and tap-to-pay capabilities, though we highly encourage all fans to purchase tickets in advance, as we always have.
- There will likely be no need to scan out upon exit unless you plan to re-enter on the same day.
- With this change, we will no longer have to throw away hundreds of unused badges after the event. With unpredictable walk-up crowds and last-minute changes, over-ordering badges has always been inevitable, and sometimes entire boxes go to waste.
- The area in the Oregon Ballroom where Registration has historically been placed can now be used to house more attractions or an additional rest/food area. Since we’ve programmed every square foot of the convention center, this extra space allows us some much-needed room for growth.
Change can be scary, and we acknowledge that there will be a learning curve as we roll out this new reduced-badge system. That said, we ask you all to keep an open mind as we explore this option for 2027.
