Generally, yes! Access to most programming panels is included with your badge. However…
Some guests may have a panel that requires an additional paid ticket to attend. This information is typically divulged when the guest is announced.
Other guests may require a panel reservation process due to their demand. This information may not be divulged when the guest is announced as the level of a guest’s popularity may not always be immediately apparent. Rose City Comic Con reserves the right to implement a reservation system for panels that are trending toward overflowing or becoming unsafe.
With all programming panels, attendance cannot be guaranteed. Each panel room has a maximum capacity which is determined by a fire marshal, and once this capacity is hit, fans will no longer be able to gain entry.
No, we tried this model at Rose City Comic Con 2019 and found that the majority of our fans did not prefer it, so we’re back to basics! However, to ensure our cosplay contestants can do the rehearsal and tech check before the big show, we will be clearing after the last panel before the Cosplay Competition.
Yes. According to sagaftrastrike.org, “Appearances, panels, fan meet and greets, etc. are all okay, as long as they do not promote struck work or struck companies.”
What does this mean for you, the fan?
You can still meet your favorite celebrities at Rose City Comic Con! However, there will be some restrictions in place.
Autographs: Guests who are members of SAG-AFTRA cannot provide anything to sign which depicts them as a character from their struck work, meaning only generic headshots will be provided at their autograph table. However, if you bring a photo or item from a struck property, it is okay for them to sign. Note, in solidarity, actors reserve the right to decline to sign any items from struck work.
Photo Ops: Guests who are members of SAG-AFTRA can take photos with fans.
Panels: Guests who are members of SAG-AFTRA can participate in panels and Q&As, however, they are not permitted to discuss struck projects. General topics are fine, such as questions about their process, why they wanted to be an actor, what they like/dislike about working in the industry, their private work or charities, etc. Any fans who ask about the actors’ projects will have their question politely declined.
Please bring the QR code you received when you made your purchase. This would have been emailed to the email address you used at the time of purchase. The QR code will be scanned at the time of redemption at the guests location.
It is up to each guest whether they will take a selfie or not. If they indicate in advance that they will take selfies, it will be listed on their autograph page on the Epic Photos website, otherwise, you would need to ask at their table.
